toddler food recipes!
so ive been slacking on my kid food recipes lately....so i decided to update with all of them today...enjoy!

cook cauliflower(16oz) and broccoli(4oz) in chicken broth (about 1 1/2 cups) until soft enough to mash. MASH WITH A MASHER! (or puree in a blender if you wanted a soft consistency) add a cup of white cheddar cheese shreds (more if you like) and stir until melted. then add about 3 tbsps of flour to emulsify the cheese and broth and voila! delicious...brad even liked it

bring 3 1/2 cups chicken broth (or beef broth or veg broth) to a boil. add 2 cups of alphabet pasta (or whatever shape you like). brown 1/2 lb of extra lean ground beef. when brown add to the pasta mixture. add about 2/3 cup of frozen vegs (we use mix veg or green beans). add one small can of tomato paste and stir until blended. cook until its thickened.

make about 2 cups of pasta of your choice (we use small shapes) add 1 8oz can of tomato sauce and 1 8oz can of diced tomatoes. season with garlic, basil, oregano and rosemary. add 1 cup of cottage cheese (it kills me to put this in there but ricotta is just too thick for this) blend and done...i top it with a bit of parm before serving.

Man, my girls have absolutely no interest in eating solids or feeding themselves. We tried cheerios and it was a disaster. I don't remember it being this hard with Emma, she seemed to want to eat more and bigger, chunkier foods. These 2 will not touch anything I don't feed to them on a spoon. :( Am I being over ambitious here? Are they too young still at 9 mos?

my girls hate feeding themselves...personally i dont mind..it goes faster and is cleaner...i know they know how too but i just dont push the issue....they really didnt show an interest in it at all until 12 months...dont worry about it :)
